Life is 50/50. What does that mean? It just means that life is going to be 50% easy and 50% hard, and you know what? That’s totally okay! It’s all in how we look at what we go through – it starts with your thoughts.

I personally know so many people that are going through incredibly difficult challenges right now. Some so overwhelming it’s hard to see the light and feel hope.

There is hope. Always HOPE! I can say this from my own personal experience and if you need to borrow a little hope from me, I’m happy to share some with you.

None of us are immune from hardships in this life –  it’s part of the human experience and it’s an opportunity to become a better person and also a way for us to draw closer to our Father in Heaven and Savior.
I believe the things we learn from our challenges are also meant to help those we know and come in contact with. We are not meant to struggle on our own pretending we’ve got it all figured out. We are here to buoy one another in our challenges in this life.
I have struggled with my fair share of depression and anxiety and stress. I kind of ignored it for a while. I’ve been actively working through it and getting the help and tools I need to navigate through it.
Before I met my husband Dave my life was so incredibly challenging and I lived in a constant state of stress. I was just surviving day to day; survival mode, really. It was hard to have hopes and dreams because life was so overwhelmingly difficult and I just sort of learned learned to live my life in a constant state of fight or flight. Over time this put a tremendous amount of stress on my body and it’s manifested itself over the last 5 years in physical symptoms. As I’ve been working through all of this, especially on a more deeper level the last 8+ years, I’m feeling the effects of physical, emotional and spiritual healing. It takes time and patience, lots of hope and prayer too.
I’ve been super INTENTIONAL about changing negative thought patterns that became so hardwired in my brain from thinking untrue thoughts about myself. Did you know that our thoughts can be hardwired when they are thought over and over again? Yup! There’s hope, and the awesome thing is you can create new thoughts that create new neural pathways that will create awesome results in your life!
Why am I sharing this with you? Because I’m not ashamed of my struggles.
I share because my deepest desires in life is to help others. I know that by sharing this I will help someone that is struggling too. My prayer is that I can give hope to others that they matter and that their life has purpose.
I share because too many people suffer alone in their struggles and that can be a dark place to be. We are hardwired for connection and we are meant to help each other out in both the bad & good times of life. I can also confidently say that the greater our sorrow, the greater our capacity to feel joy!
I’ll end with this quote I love:
“Sometimes we mistakenly believe that happiness is the absence of a load. But bearing a load is a necessary and essential part of the plan of happiness. Because our individual load needs to generate spiritual traction, we should be careful to not haul around in our lives so many nice but unnecessary things that we are distracted and diverted from the things that truly matter most.” ~David Bednar
